Cheddar chowder
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- salt
- flour - 1/4 c
- butter
- water - 2 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- onion, chopped - 1/4 c
- carrots, diced - 1/2 c
- Velveeta cheese, cubed - 4 oz
- celery, chopped - 1/2 c
- potatoes, diced - 2 c
- whole kernel corn, drained - 1 c
- cooked ham - 1 c
- Cheddar cheese, cubed - 4 oz
How to make cheddar chowder:
White Sauce:1/4 c. butter1/4 c. flour2 c. milk4 oz. Cheddar cheese, cubed4 oz. Velveeta cheese, cubed1 c. cooked ham1 c. whole kernel corn, drained Bring to boil: water, potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer 10 minutes.White sauce: Melt butter; add flour and milk, stirring constantly. Add cheeses. Stir until cheese melts. Add ham and corn. Add undrained vegetables. Heat but do not boil.
