Cheddar chowder
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- butter
- water - 2 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/4 c
- shredded Cheddar cheese - 2 c
- diced celery - 1/2 c
- diced carrots - 1/2 c
- diced potatoes - 2 c
How to make cheddar chowder:
White Sauce:1/4 c. butter1/4 c. flour2 c. milk2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese Combine water, potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, salt and pepper in large kettle. Boil 10 to 12 minutes or until tender. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, make white sauce by melting the butter. Add flour and stir until smooth (about 1 minute). Slowly add milk and cook until thickened. Add grated cheese to white sauce and stir until melted. Add white sauce to vegetables that have not been drained. Heat through.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, Chowders, Super bowl.
