Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 2 c
  • butter - 3 tbsp
  • chicken broth - 1 c
  • salt and pepper - 1 item
  • grated Cheddar cheese - 1 c
  • chopped parsley - 3 Tbsp
  • medium onion, finely chopped - 1 item
  • drops Tabasco sauce - 5 item
  • instant mashed potatoes - 1 c
  • clove finely chopped garlic - 1 item

How to make cheddar cheese soup:

In 2 quart saucepan, melt butter. Saute onion over low heat for 2 minutes. Add garlic. Cook 3 minutes more. Add potatoes, broth and milk. Stir over medium heat until smooth. Simmer an additional 8 minutes. Add cheese and Tabasco sauce. Stir gently until cheese melts and soup is hot. Add salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle with parsley.
