Ingredients/Components
- envelope unflavored gelatin - 1 item
- egg yolks - 4 item
- scalded milk - 1 c
- thawed Cool Whip - 2 c
- water - 1/2 c
- sugar - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- lemon juice - 1 tsp
- ladyfingers, split - 8 item
How to make charlotte russe:
Line 1 quart mold with ladyfingers split in half. Add gelatin to water. Beat egg yolks with sugar. Slowly stir in milk, then add softened gelatin. Stir over medium heat for 1 minute. Chill until slightly thickened. Blend in lemon juice, vanilla and Cool Whip. Chill in mold until firm.Recipe categories: Desserts, Gelatin, Cherries.
