  • envelope unflavored gelatin - 1 item
  • egg yolks - 4 item
  • scalded milk - 1 c
  • thawed Cool Whip - 2 c
  • water - 1/2 c
  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • lemon juice - 1 tsp
  • ladyfingers, split - 8 item

How to make charlotte russe:

Line 1 quart mold with ladyfingers split in half. Add gelatin to water. Beat egg yolks with sugar. Slowly stir in milk, then add softened gelatin. Stir over medium heat for 1 minute. Chill until slightly thickened. Blend in lemon juice, vanilla and Cool Whip. Chill in mold until firm.
