Ingredients/Components
- can cream of chicken soup - 1 item
- Ritz crackers - 1 item
- can sliced water chestnuts, drained - 1 oz
- chopped pimiento - 1/4 c
- celery, cut in 1-inch pieces - 4 c
- sliced, toasted almonds - 1/2 c
How to make celery casserole:
Put celery in boiling, salted water and cook 8 minutes; drain. Layer celery, water chestnuts, pimiento and chicken soup in buttered 2-quart casserole. Top with sliced almonds; crumble Ritz crackers lightly over all. Cover and bake at 350° for 30 minutes until bubbly.Variation: To serve as main dish, add 2 to 3 cups chopped chicken.
