Celery casserole
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter, melted - 2 Tbsp
- slivered almonds - 1/4 c
- cream of chicken soup - 1 c
- can water chestnuts, drained and sliced - 1 oz
- chopped pimiento - 1/4 c
- 1-inch celery slices - 4 c
- chow mein noodles or Ritz crackers - 1/4 c
How to make celery casserole:
Cook celery in small amount of boiling salted water for about 6 to 8 minutes; drain. Combine celery, water chestnuts, soup, pimiento and salt; mix well and pour the mixture into a lightly greased 2-quart casserole. Combine noodles or crackers with almonds and butter; sprinkle over celery mixture. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes.Recipe categories: Fruit, Grains, Side dish.
