Celery casserole
Ingredients/Components
- celery, sliced 1 1/4-inch - 3 c
- boiling water - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter - 1/4 c
- can sliced water chestnuts - 5 oz
- can cream of chicken soup - 10 oz
- can Chinese noodles - 5 oz
How to make celery casserole:
Heat oven to 400°. Grease 1 1/2-quart casserole. Cook celery in boiling water for 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Do not drain. Add butter, water chestnuts, soup, salt and pepper. Mix lightly. Put a layer of 1/3 of the Chinese noodles in casserole. Top with 1/2 celery mixture, then more noodles and rest of celery mixture. Cover with last of noodles. Bake, covered, 10 minutes, then uncovered for 5 minutes more.Recipe categories: Fruit, Grains, Side dish.
