Catfish gumbo
Ingredients/Components
- vegetable oil - 1 item
- garlic powder - 2 tsp
- chopped onion - 1 c
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- bay leaf - 1 item
- chopped green pepper - 1/2 c
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- hot pepper sauce - 1 item
- cooked rice - 1 item
- can tomatoes - 1 item
- thyme - 1/4 tsp
- beef bouillon cubes - 2 item
- sliced okra - 1 c
- catfish fillets - 4 item
How to make catfish gumbo:
Cut fish into cubes. Cook the celery, green pepper, onion and garlic powder in oil until pepper is tender. Dissolve bouillon cubes in water and add this with tomatoes, okra and spices to the oil. Simmer for 30 minutes and add the fish and cook until it is done. Serve with rice in bowls. Add pepper sauce to taste.Recipe categories: Main dish, Gumbo, Stew.
