Cashew brittle
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- butter - 1/2 tsp
- water - 1/2 c
- baking soda - 1/8 tsp
- light corn syrup - 1/4 c
- salted cashews - 1 c
How to make cashew brittle:
Combine sugar, water, corn syrup and butter in a saucepan. Stir over medium heat to 300° on candy thermometer. Add cashews. Cook until thermometer reaches 310°. Stir in baking soda. Pour into lightly greased 9-inch square pan. Smooth out to fill the pan. Let stand until cold, then break into pieces. Makes about 1 pound.Recipe categories: Desserts, Fruit, Candy.
