Ingredients/Components

  • medium-large carrots - 12 item
  • medium onion, minced - 1 item
  • margarine - 1/4 c
  • flour - 1/4 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • dry mustard - 1/4 tsp
  • milk - 2 c
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • celery salt - 1/4 tsp
  • Velveeta cheese - 1/2 c
  • bread cubes - 3 c

How to make carrot casserole:

Cut, cook and drain carrots. Cook onions in 1/4 cup margarine until brown. Stir in flour, salt and mustard. Add milk and stir until smooth. Add pepper, celery salt and cheese; stir until cheese melts. Put carrots in casserole and pour sauce over carrots. Mix. Melt 1/3 cup margarine and mix with bread cubes. Put on top. Bake in a 350° oven for 35 to 45 minutes.
