Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • butter - 3 Tbsp
  • water
  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • chopped walnuts - 1 c
  • sifted flour
  • raisins - 1 c
  • cloves - 1/2 tsp
  • finely grated carrots - 2 c

How to make carrot cake:

Bake in large tube pan at 275° for two hours. Cool on wire rack. Turn onto serving plate. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Yields 16 servings.
