Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour
- water
- nutmeg - 1 Tbsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- raisins - 1 c
- margarine - 1 Tbsp
- cloves - 1 Tbsp
- large carrots, grated - 2 item
How to make carrot cake:
Preheat oven to 275°. In a large saucepan, put the sugar, water, raisins, margarine, carrots and spices. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Cover the pan and let it stand for 12 hours.The next day, add the dry ingredients all at once and mix well. Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake for 2 hours. Cool completely before removing from pan.
