Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour - 2 c
- water
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- shortening - 5 tbsp
- raisins - 1 c
- ground cloves - 1 tsp
- large carrots, grated - 2 item
How to make carrot cake:
Mix first 8 ingredients in saucepan; cook slowly for 5 minutes. After it begins to boil remove from heat and let cool. Add remaining ingredients and a pinch of salt. Bake in a greased, floured 9x13 inch pan at 325° for 45-60 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Carrots.
