Ingredients/Components

  • sifted flour - 3 c
  • sugar - 2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • baking powder - 3 tsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • cinnamon - 2 tsp
  • grated carrots - 2 c
  • salad oil
  • eggs - 4 item
  • chopped walnuts - 1/2 c

How to make carrot cake:

Sift flour once; measure and resift into mixing bowl with sugar, salt, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon. Add carrots, oil and eggs; beat at medium speed until batter is smooth and well blended. Fold in nuts. Bake in a greased 10-inch tube pan in a 350° oven for 1 hour or until done.
