Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- brown sugar - 1 lb
- butter - 1 c
- dash of salt - 1 item
- light corn syrup - 1 c
- Eagle Brand milk - 1 can
How to make caramels:
Melt butter in heavy 3 qt. saucepan. Add brown sugar and salt, stirring until thoroughly combined. Blend in corn syrup. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly. Cook and stir over medium heat, until candy reaches firm ball stage (245°) about 12-15 minutes. Remove from heat, add vanilla. Spoon over pecans on buttered surface.For turtles, can melt chocolate and spoon over.
