Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- packed brown sugar - 3/4 c
- whipping cream - 2/3 c
- margarine - 1/3 c
- light corn syrup - 1/2 c
- Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until mixture comes to a full boil 5 to 8 minutes
How to make caramel sauce:
Combine everything except whipping cream. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until mixture comes to a full boil (5 to 8 minutes). Cool 5 minutes. Stir in whipping cream. Serve warm over ice cream or cake. Store refrigerated.Variations: For Rum Raisin Sauce, while still warm, stir 1/4 cup of raisins and 1/4 teaspoon rum extract into 3/4 cup of sauce.For Praline Sauce, while still warm, stir in 1/2 cup toasted pecan halves into 3/4 cup of sauce.
