Caramel popcorn
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- brown sugar - 2 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- popped corn - 6 qt
- cream of tartar - 1/4 tsp
- white syrup - 1/2 c
- margarine 2 sticks - 1 c
- peanuts if desired - 1 item
How to make caramel popcorn:
Mix butter, syrup and sugar. Bring to a boil for 6 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add cream of tartar, salt and baking soda. Stir until foamy and pour over popped corn. Spread on cookie sheet after mixing. Bake at 200° for 1 hour. May add peanuts, if desired.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Snacks, Grains.
