Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 tsp
  • brown sugar - 2 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • popped corn - 6 qt
  • cream of tartar - 1/4 tsp
  • white syrup - 1/2 c
  • margarine 2 sticks - 1 c
  • peanuts if desired - 1 item

How to make caramel popcorn:

Mix butter, syrup and sugar. Bring to a boil for 6 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add cream of tartar, salt and baking soda. Stir until foamy and pour over popped corn. Spread on cookie sheet after mixing. Bake at 200° for 1 hour. May add peanuts, if desired.
