  • brown sugar - 2 c
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • margarine - 1 c
  • light corn syrup - 1/2 c
  • popped corn - 6 qt
  • cream of tartar - 1/4 tsp

How to make caramel popcorn:

In large pan, combine brown sugar, syrup, margarine, salt and cream of tartar and bring to a boil. Cook for 5 minutes; remove from heat. Add baking soda; beat down. Pour over popcorn. Stir until all corn is covered. Spread popcorn onto 2 greased cookie sheets. Bake in preheated oven at 200° for 1 hour. Cool and break up and store in large plastic bags.
