Caramel pecan pie



  • vanilla - 1/4 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • water - 1/4 c
  • eggs, beaten - 3 item
  • margarine - 1/4 c
  • light brown sugar - 3/4 c
  • pecan pieces - 1 c
  • 9-inch unbaked pie shell - 1 item
  • Kraft caramel squares - 36 item

How to make caramel pecan pie:

Melt the caramels with margarine and water in top of a double boiler. Stir occasionally until smooth. Combine sugar, salt and vanilla. Add well beaten eggs and caramel sauce gradually. Mix well. Stir in pecans and pour into pastry shell. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.

Pie filling will appear to be soft but firms as pie cools.
