Caramel oatmeal chewies
Ingredients/Components
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- all-purpose flour
- firmly packed brown sugar - 3/4 c
- salt optional - 1/4 tsp
- uncooked oats
- 1 1/2 sticks margarine, melted - 3/4 c
- butterscotch - 1 c
- chocolate semi-sweet morsels - 1 c
- caramel fudge topping - 1 item
How to make caramel oatmeal chewies:
Heat oven to 350°. Grease 13 x 9-inch pan. Combine 1 1/2 cups flour, brown sugar, soda and salt. Stir in margarine, mixing until well blended. Reserve 1 cup. Press remaining onto bottom of prepared pan. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes. Top with nuts and chocolate pieces.Mix caramel topping and 1/4 cup flour until smooth. Drizzle over chocolate pieces to within 1/4-inch of pan edge. Sprinkle with reserved oat mixture. Bake 18 to 22 minutes. Cool and chill until set.
