Ingredients/Components

  • butter - 1/2 lb
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • box light brown sugar - 1 item
  • granulated sugar - 1 c
  • large eggs or 6 medium ones - 5 item
  • flour - 3 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • sweet milk - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • chopped nuts or chopped walnuts - 1 c

How to make caramel nut pound cake:

Cream butter, shortening and brown sugar. Beat well. Now, add granulated sugar and mix until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well each 3 minutes. Add milk and vanilla and mix. Mix nuts. Save 1/2 cup. Add flour before adding nuts. Bake in pan for 1 hour and 30 minutes at 325°. Line pan in wax paper.
