- vanilla - 1 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1 c
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- butter - 1/2 lb
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- large eggs - 5 item
- chopped pecans or walnuts - 1 c
- box light brown sugar - 1 item
How to make caramel nut pound cake:
Cream butter, shortening and brown sugar, a little at a time. Beat well. Add granulated sugar. Beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each; beat 3 minutes. Sift together dry ingredients. Add alternately with milk. Add vanilla and nuts. Bake in tube pan for 1 hour and 30 minutes at 325°.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, American.
