Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 2 c
- milk - 1 c
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
How to make caramel icing:
Mix brown sugar and milk. Stir until the sugar is dissolved, then boil without stirring to the soft-ball stage (238° on candy thermometer). Add butter. Remove the icing until it is thick and creamy. If the icing becomes too thick, thin it with a little cream. Makes enough to frost 2 (9-inch) layers.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Cake fillings and frostings.
