Caramel corn
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- packed brown sugar - 3/4 c
- margarine or butter - 6 Tbsp
- baking soda - 1/4 tsp
- light corn syrup - 1/2 c
- popped popcorn 1/2 c - 9 c
How to make caramel corn:
Put popcorn in a roasting pan. Combine brown sugar, corn syrup and margarine in a 1 1/2-quart saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture boils. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook, without stirring, for 5 more minutes. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and baking soda. Stir until mixed. Pour mixture over popcorn and gently stir to coat. Bake in a 325° oven for 15 minutes; stir. Bake another 5 minutes. Transfer popcorn to large piece of foil to cool. Break into clusters.
