  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • margarine - 1/2 c
  • light corn syrup - 1/4 c
  • popped corn - 4 qt

How to make caramel corn:

Place popped corn into roasting size pan. Mix sugar, margarine, corn syrup and salt in saucepan and cook gently on medium heat, stirring constantly. When begins to boil, cook 5 minutes longer. Remove from heat. Stir in soda and vanilla (dissolved together) until mixture foams. Pour over popcorn, stirring to coat. Bake 1 hour at 200°, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool and crumble into small pieces.
