Ingredients/Components

  • butter or margarine - 1 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • corn syrup - 1/2 c
  • popped corn - 6 qt
  • light brown sugar - 2 c

How to make caramel corn:

Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, butter and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture reaches 260°. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda. Pour mixture over popped corn in large roasting pan. Stir until well coated. Bake for 1 hour at 200°, stirring 3 or 4 times. Store in airtight container.
