Ingredients/Components
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- popped corn - 5 qt
- brown sugar, firmly packed - 2 c
- Karo syrup - 1/2 c
- sticks oleo or butter - 2 item
- pinch of cream of tartar - 1 item
How to make caramel corn:
Mix first 4 ingredients. Bring to a boil. Boil 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Add baking soda and mix. Pour over popped corn. Put in shallow baking pan or cookie sheet. Put in oven at 200° for about 1 hour. Stir occasionally.Peanuts may be added if desired.
