Caramel corn
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- packed brown sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- stick margarine - 1 item
- light corn syrup - 1/3 c
- pecans
- walnuts
- popcorn about 3/4 c - 16 c
How to make caramel corn:
You can omit nuts or use peanuts.Preheat oven to 250°. Place popped corn and nuts in a large roasting pan; set aside.
Caramel Coating: In a 2-quart pan over medium heat, heat sugar, oleo, syrup and salt to boiling. Boil 5 minutes, stirring often. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour hot mixture over corn and nuts, stirring to coat well. Bake 1 hour. Spoon mixture onto wax paper to cool, stirring to separate.
