Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- sticks margarine - 2 item
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- cream of tartar - 1 tsp
- cake flour
- warm milk - 3/4 c
- Cream margarine and sugar
How to make caramel cake:
Sift dry ingredients. Cream margarine and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Add milk, dry ingredients and vanilla. Pour into greased and floured cake pans. Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.Filling:3 1/2 c. sugar2 sticks margarine1 tsp. baking powder3/4 c. warm milk1 tsp. vanilla Mix milk, margarine and 3 cups of sugar in pot. Bring to a boil. Brown 1/2 cup of sugar in iron pan and pour into boiling milk and mix well. Cook until soft ball forms. Add baking powder and vanilla.
