Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1 item
- flour - 3 c
- butter - 3/4 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- egg whites - 6 item
- sweet milk - 3/4 c
- butter size of egg - 1 item
- sugar scant - 2 c
How to make caramel cake:
Icing:2 1/2 c. sugar1 c. sweet milk butter (size of egg) Combine butter and sugar; cream well. Add flour and milk alternately; beat well. Fold in egg whites that have been beaten stiff, then vanilla. Add baking powder at the last. Makes 2 layers. Cook in moderate oven.Caramel Icing: Heat ingredients to boil. Brown 1/2 cup sugar until all sugar is melted. Add to the other mixture. Cook until ready to spread.
