Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- water - 2/3 c
- small can Pet milk - 1 item
- Mrs - 1/2 c
- Nestle Toll House butterscotch morsels - 6 oz
- box Duncan Hines Moist Deluxe butter recipe golden cake mix - 1 item
- Add cake mix and melted margarine
How to make caramel cake:
Beat eggs and water until eggs are well beaten. Add cake mix and melted margarine. Beat at medium speed for 4 minutes. This beating makes the layers light and soft.Prepare pans by directions on cake mix using three 8-inch pans. Cook for 15 minutes at 350°. Remove from oven and let cool at least 15 minutes before removing from pans.Filling:2 c. white granulated sugar1 stick Mrs. Filbert's margarine1 small can Pet milk6 oz. Nestle Toll House butterscotch morsels1 tsp. vanilla Cook sugar, margarine and milk in a heavy saucepan, stirring with a spatula. Cook on medium heat. When this mixture is boiling with bubbles covering the mixture, set your timer and cook for 2 minutes. Remove immediately from heat and add the morsels and vanilla. Mix with hand mixer until all morsels have melted and spread on layer top and sides.
