Caramel bread pudding
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 3 item
- packed brown sugar - 1/2 c
- vanilla extract - 1 tsp
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- raisins - 1/3 c
- bread crumbs - 4 c
- can evaporated milk - 1 oz
- chopped apples - 2 c
- walnuts - 1/2 c
- apple juice - 1/4 c
How to make caramel bread pudding:
Combine the apples, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg and butter in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Add the apple juice, raisins, vanilla, evaporated milk, eggs, brown sugar and bread cubes, mixing well. Pour into an 8-inch square baking dish. Process the walnuts with the remaining 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg and sugar in a blender. Sprinkle over the pudding. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
