  • granulated sugar - 1/2 c
  • water
  • lemon juice - 1/4 c
  • very ripe cantaloupes - 2 item

How to make cantaloupe ice:

Combine water and sugar in a saucepan and simmer about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool.

Meanwhile, cut cantaloupes in half, remove seeds and scoop the pulp and juice into a mixing bowl. Add the lemon juice and cooled sugar-water mixture and beat smooth. Put the bowl into freezer. When frozen around the edges, remove and beat smooth again. Spoon into covered container and freeze firm.
