Canned spaghetti sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 c
- oil - 1 pt
- garlic powder - 1 bulb
- oregano - 1 Tbsp
- basil - 1 Tbsp
- cans tomato paste - 5 oz
- onions - 3 lb
- hot pepper - 1 item
- bushel tomatoes - 1/2 item
- 1/2 green peppers - 1 item
How to make canned spaghetti sauce:
Cook tomatoes, onions, peppers and garlic; run through sieve into very large stock pot. Stir in remaining ingredients. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours or until desired consistency is reached. Place in jars and cover with hot lids; process in hot water bath. Process pints for 5 minutes and quarts for 10 minutes. Cooked ground beef can be added when jars are opened.
