  • sugar - 1 c
  • salt - 1/2 c
  • oil - 1 pt
  • garlic powder - 1 bulb
  • oregano - 1 Tbsp
  • basil - 1 Tbsp
  • cans tomato paste - 5 oz
  • onions - 3 lb
  • hot pepper - 1 item
  • bushel tomatoes - 1/2 item
  • 1/2 green peppers - 1 item

How to make canned spaghetti sauce:

Cook tomatoes, onions, peppers and garlic; run through sieve into very large stock pot. Stir in remaining ingredients. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours or until desired consistency is reached. Place in jars and cover with hot lids; process in hot water bath. Process pints for 5 minutes and quarts for 10 minutes. Cooked ground beef can be added when jars are opened. Makes 19 pints.
