Candy coated popcorn
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- butter or margarine - 4 Tbsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- water - 1/4 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- corn syrup - 1 c
- popped corn - 3 qt
- hot water - 2 tsp
- nuts of your choice - 3/4 c
How to make candy coated popcorn:
Place syrup, sugar, margarine, salt and water in two-quart pot. Cook over low to medium heat to 300° (hard crack stage). Stir in nuts, add baking soda in hot water to hot syrup and stir well. Pour hot syrup and nuts over popped corn in large greased pan. Mix syrup and corn rapidly. Spread thinly on cookie sheets or wax paper and let cool.
