Ingredients/Components
- flour
- butter - 1/2 c
- egg - 1 item
- powdered sugar - 1 c
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- red food coloring - 1/2 tsp
- vanilla flavoring or peppermint
How to make candy cane cookies:
Preheat oven to 375°. Mix shortening, butter, sugar, egg and flavoring. Add flour and mix. Divide dough in half and add red food coloring to half of dough. Roll a 4-inch strip using 1 teaspoon dough from each color. Twist together and shape like a candy cane. Sprinkle with granulated sugar.
