Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- margarine or butter - 1/4 c
- margarine or butter, softened - 3/4 c
- powdered sugar - 3/4 c
- whipping cream - 2 Tbsp
- Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off
- all-purpose or unbleached flour - 2 c
- pecan halves, if desired - 1 item
- Remove from heat; stir in powdered sugar and pecans
How to make candy bar cookies:
Heat oven to 325°. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. In large bowl, blend all base ingredients until crumbly. Press mixture into ungreased 15 x 10-inch jelly roll pan. Bake at 325° for 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned.Filling:28 caramels1/4 c. whipping cream1/4 c. margarine or butter1 c. powdered sugar1 c. chopped pecans In small saucepan, melt caramels with whipping cream and margarine until smooth, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in powdered sugar and pecans. Add additional cream if needed for spreading consistency. Spread over base.Glaze:1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips2 Tbsp. whipping cream1 Tbsp. margarine or butter1/4 c. powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla pecan halves, if desired In small saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate chips with whipping cream and margarine until smooth, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in powdered sugar and vanilla. Drizzle glaze over filling. Cut into bars; decorate each with pecan half.
