Candied sweet potatoes
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1/2 c
- butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- brown sugar - 1 c
- cold water - 1 c
- corn syrup - 1 Tbsp
- large sweet potatoes, cooked, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch slices - 3 item
How to make candied sweet potatoes:
In 2-quart saucepan combine brown sugar, sugar, flour and salt. Add water, butter, corn syrup and vanilla. Cook, stirring occasionally, over medium heat until mixture boils. Remove from heat. Arrange potatoes in baking dish. Pour sugar mixture over potatoes. Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.Recipe categories: Side dish, Potato, Yam/sweet potato.
