Candied sweet potatoes
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- brown sugar
- water - 2/3 c
- molasses - 1/2 tsp
- ginger - 1/4 tsp
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- margarine, melted - 1/3 c
- medium-sized sweet potatoes - 8 item
How to make candied sweet potatoes:
Cook the potatoes in boiling water until tender; drain. Peel and cut the potatoes in half lengthwise slices. Place, cut side up, in a greased, shallow baking pan. Set aside.Combine remaining ingredients in a saucepan; bring to a boil and boil for six minutes, stirring often. Pour over the potatoes. Bake at 375° for 30 minutes, basting frequently.
