Candied sweet potatoes



  • brown sugar - 1/4 c
  • butter - 1/4 c
  • water - 2 tsp
  • dark corn syrup - 1/2 c
  • medium sweet potatoes - 6 item

How to make candied sweet potatoes:

Peel potatoes and boil 20 minutes. They should not be too soft. Half in lengthwise; place in baking dish. In a pan boil together the butter, water, corn syrup and brown sugar. Pour syrup mixture over potatoes and baste often. Bake at 350° for 1 hour until glazed.

Just bring the syrup to a good boil or if boiled long, it will turn to candy.
