Candied pecans
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- cold water - 5 Tbsp
- pecan halves - 2 c
How to make candied pecans:
Combine sugar, water, salt and cinnamon. Cook over low heat until mixture forms a soft ball, about 10 minutes. (Use a candy thermometer, it's much easier!!) Do not stir while cooking.Remove from heat; add vanilla and pecans. Stir until nuts are well coated with mixture. Pour onto waxed paper and gently separate with a fork.
