Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 1 qt
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 1/4 c
  • butter - 1/4 c
  • cornstarch
  • soda - 1/4 tsp
  • Velveeta cheese - 2 c
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • chicken broth - 1 qt
  • grated Cheddar cheese - 1 c
  • finely chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • parsley, chopped - 2 Tbsp
  • finely chopped celery - 1/2 c
  • finely chopped carrots - 1/2 c

How to make canadian cheese soup:

Melt butter in pot. Add onions, carrots and celery. Saute until soft. Add flour and cornstarch and cook until bubbly. Add stock and milk and make a smooth sauce. Add soda and cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Add parsley before serving.
