Canadian cheese soup
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 qt
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- cornstarch
- soda - 1/4 tsp
- Velveeta cheese - 2 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chicken broth - 1 qt
- grated Cheddar cheese - 1 c
- finely chopped onion - 1/2 c
- parsley, chopped - 2 Tbsp
- finely chopped celery - 1/2 c
- finely chopped carrots - 1/2 c
How to make canadian cheese soup:
Melt butter in pot. Add onions, carrots and celery. Saute until soft. Add flour and cornstarch and cook until bubbly. Add stock and milk and make a smooth sauce. Add soda and cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Add parsley before serving.Recipe categories: Eggs/dairy, Cheese, Soups & stews.
