Ingredients/Components
- cans cut green beans* - 2 1
- cans baby lima beans* - 2 1
- can red kidney beans* - 1 1
- can wax beans* - 1 1
- can chick peas garbonza beans* - 1 1
- bacon, cooked & crumbled may use Hormel real bacon bits in the jar
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- catsup
- soy sauce
- packed brown sugar
- Worcestershire sauce
How to make calico baked beans:
*1 lb. is approximately. weight of these cans.Drain green beans, wax beans and chick peas. Add all other beans with their liquid. Combine with other ingredients. Pour into large (lasagna size) dish. Bake for approximately 1 hour at 350 degrees, uncovered, until sauce is bubbly and thickened.Tip: If you want to prepare ahead without tying up your casserole dish, this can be frozen in containers and then thawed and poured into the baking dish for cooking.
For smaller recipe: Use only 2 cans pork 'n beans and 1 can of all other beans. The rest is the same. Bake in 9 x 13-inch casserole dish.
