Cabbage wedge casserole
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- chili sauce - 3 Tbsp
- onion - 1/4 c
- green pepper - 1/2 c
- medium cabbage - 1 item
- Break wedges apart and place in casserole dish
- sharp cheese, grated I use Kraft sharp - 3/4 c
How to make cabbage wedge casserole:
Cut cabbage into 8 wedges, core and boil 8 to 10 minutes. Break wedges apart and place in casserole dish. Saute green pepper and onion in butter until clear. Add flour and mix. Add milk, salt and pepper. Cook until thick, stirring all the while. Pour cream sauce over cabbage and bake 20 minutes at 350°. Add Topping.Topping:1/2 c. mayonnaise3 Tbsp. chili sauce3/4 c. sharp cheese, grated (I use Kraft sharp) Mix mayonnaise, cheese and chili sauce.
