Ingredients/Components

  • butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • salt
  • water - 5 c
  • whipping cream - 1 c
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • grated Parmesan cheese - 1 item
  • bunch green onions, chopped - 1 item
  • medium potatoes, peeled and cubed - 4 item
  • cabbage, chopped - 1/2 med

How to make cabbage soup:

Combine first 4 ingredients in a large Dutch oven; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 15-20 minutes. Stir in whipping cream, butter, salt and pepper; cook, stirring constantly until butter melts and mixture is thoroughly heated. Spoon into serving bowls; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Yield: about 3 qt.
