Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • water - 2 c
  • vinegar - 1 c
  • dry mustard - 1 tsp
  • diced celery - 1/2 c
  • celery seed - 2 tsp
  • green pepper, diced - 1 item
  • medium onions, diced - 2 item
  • turmeric - 1 tsp
  • large cabbage, shredded - 1 item

How to make cabbage salad:

Bring mustard, turmeric, salt, sugar, water and vinegar to a boil in saucepan. Pour hot mixture over prepared vegetables. Let stand 2 days in refrigerator before serving.

Can be kept in refrigerator 6 months and still remain crisp.
