Cabbage casserole



  • milk - 1 c
  • sour cream
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • grated Cheddar cheese - 2 c
  • can cream of celery soup - 1 item
  • onions, chopped - 2 c
  • shredded cabbage - 6 c
  • water chestnuts, sliced - 1 c
  • cornflakes - 2 c

How to make cabbage casserole:

Sauce for Cabbage:8 oz. sour cream1 can cream of celery soup1 c. milk Mix sour cream, celery soup and milk for sauce. Set aside. Mix margarine and cornflakes. Place 1/2 of cornflake mixture in bottom of a 9 x 13-inch dish. Spread cabbage over cornflakes and sprinkle with water chestnuts and onions. Pour the sauce over this. Top with the remaining cornflake mixture. Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes. Remove from oven. Top with grated cheese. Allow cheese to melt before serving.
