Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- flour - 4 Tbsp
- oleo
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- small head cabbage - 1 item
- small bunch celery - 1 item
- yellow cheese
How to make cabbage casserole:
White Sauce:4 Tbsp. oleo4 Tbsp. flour2 c. milk salt and pepper about 1/2 lb. yellow cheese Cook separately in small amount of water for about 10 minutes the shredded cabbage and diced celery; drain well.Make a white sauce using the oleo, flour, milk, salt and pepper to taste. Cook until it thickens. Add yellow cheese to the white sauce. Stir until melted.
In a casserole, pour sauce over cabbage and celery. Sprinkle with toasted buttered bread crumbs. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes. Makes 6 servings.
