Cabbage and beef soup
Ingredients/Components
- garlic powder - 1/4 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- garlic salt - 1/2 tsp
- lean ground beef - 1 lb
- beef bouillon cubes - 4 item
- can kidney beans undrained - 1 oz
- chopped, fresh parsley - 1 item
- celery stalks, chopped - 2 item
- medium head cabbage, chopped - 1/2 item
- tomato can water - 1 item
- can tomatoes, chopped liquid reserved - 1 oz
How to make cabbage and beef soup:
In a Dutch oven, brown beef. Add all remaining ingredients except parsley; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 1 hour. Garnish with parsley. Yields 3 quarts.Note: If cooking for two, soup can be frozen in serving-size portions to enjoy months later.
