  • sugar - 3 Tbsp
  • salt - 3/4 tsp
  • soda - 1/4 c
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Crisco - 2 Tbsp
  • warm water - 1 c
  • yeast - 1 pkg

How to make buttermilk rolls:

Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water with 1/4 teaspoon sugar. Mix all other ingredients with the buttermilk and warm water. Pour in the dissolved yeast. Add enough flour to make a stiff dough. Make out rolls. Let rise 1 hour before baking. Bake at 425° until golden brown.
